- What happens if care needs increase over time — can residents stay, or would they need to move?
- What is the staff-to-resident ratio during the day, evening, and overnight?
- Are nurses on-site or on-call? How quickly can a nurse respond?
- How are medical emergencies handled?
Staffing and Training
- What training do caregivers receive, especially for memory care if applicable?
- How long has the current leadership team been in place?
- What is the staff turnover rate?
- Are background checks conducted on all employees?
Living Environment and Amenities
- What types of rooms or apartments are available, and what are the price differences?

- Is there a community fee or move-in fee?
- What is the refund policy if a resident moves out or passes away?
- What is the notice period for ending a contract?
